We’re also really pleased to announce another 27 acts that will be joining the festival fun with Chase and Status Live, Giggs, The Horrors, Oddisee & Good Compny and more all set to appear alongside giant names like The Killers, Liam Gallagher, Pet Shop Boys, Travis Scott, Justice, Eric Prydz, Two Door Cinema Club and much much more...
CHASE AND STATUS LIVE
We’re thrilled to announce the return to Benicàssim of Drum & Bass legends Chase and Status Live which will be the perfect way to round off the Saturday night. On the back of 2017’s phenomenal record “Tribe”, a new album “Return 2 Jungle” on the horizon and 15 years at the forefront of the drum n bass scene, Benicàssim is guaranteed an explosive performance from the London duo.
Giggs is one of the most uncompromising, influential and important rappers ever to emerge from the UK. His 2016 album “Landlord” hit #2 in the UK charts and since then he’s gone on to release the Wamp 2 Dem mixtape featuring tracks like “Peligro” and “Linguo” which have been streamed more than 20 million times on Spotify. He’s also appeared on a couple of tracks with his pal Drake who turned up to join him on stage at Reading Festival last year.
The Horrors have come a long way from their early garage punk days to evolve through the epic shoegaze and post-punk textures of Primary Colours (2009) to the darker, rawer sound borrowed from 80’s post punk, synth pop and 90s dance on their latest album V.
A very special welcome back to FIB for a very special band.
KING KHAN & THE SHRINES
King Khan, founder of the greatest cult phenomenon since the parting of the Milky Way will be bringing his 8 piece band the Shrines to Benicàssim to spread their hypersexual gospel and show just why they are the most entertaining group since the days of Ike and Tina. Imagine Wilson Pickett or a Bollywood James Brown leading the Velvet Underground. All hail King Khan!
OSCAR & THE WOLF
Not many acts can boast the kind of success Oscar & the Wolf has already seen in only three years. Especially with such a unique, uncompromising sound as singer Max Colombie’s, to be situated somewhere in the realm where luscious r&b, Erik Satie-style synths and indie electronics meet. Debut album ‘Entity’, released in 2014, gathered immediate critical acclaim and explosive popular support internationally.
South Beach Dance Stage
New acts are coming from all corners of the globe to join the likes of Princess Nokia and Sofi Tukker on the South Beach Dance Stage at FIB this year. Amongst them are the fast rising Finnish pop star ALMA, a 20 year old with neon green hair, a magnetic attitude and a voice that could demolish buildings. There’s London’s electro duo MONARCHY, Washington DC’s soul and funk influenced rapper ODDISEE & GOOD COMPNY and a DJ set to put a smile on your face from Dutch two-piece DETROIT SWINDLE. There’s Australian electronic dance hero HAYDEN JAMES, Vienna’s experimental electronic pop duo LEYYA and urban pop from Madrid based ZAZO & GXURMET.
THE BEST SPANISH BANDS!
As always we’ll be showcasing the best up and coming talent and a wide range of the best young groups Spain has to offer on the FIB Club stage with days hosted by legendary Barcelona venue Razzmatazz and Madrid’s ever popular Ochoymedio Club.
Some of the unmissable sets include something very special in the shape of new Scottish band The Snuts, a brace of noisy garage rockers spearheading the new Madrid scene The Parrots and Los Nastys, Valencia 5 piece popsters La Plata and be sure to check out Barcelona country tinged songstress Joana Serrat & The Great Canonyers.
