Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly were known as the NTA caners - the celebrities who would always make sure the drink kept on flowing way after the last after-after party had shut down.
But last night's National Television Awards success was celebrated in a much more sober fashion - literally, as Ant no longer drinks alcohol after his boozed-up car crash last March.
Ant and Dec weren't at the O2 to pick up their Best Presenter gong in person, having been scheduled to film for Britain's Got Talent several miles away in the London Palladium.
But they appeared on screen via video link to thank fans for voting for them in an emotional speech, with Ant praising Dec for keeping going while he took 10 months off work to recover from his battle with booze and substance abuse.
Neither of them have mentioned how they celebrated their award - the 18th time in a row - but it was bound to be in a much more low-key way than previous years.
In bygone times, the telly partners used to stumble out of the NTAs and pour themselves into a cab back to Ant's Chiswick home in west London, which he shared with estranged wife Lisa Armstrong.
